Offshore Formation: Business Models to Protect Against Liabilities

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Offshore for the purpose of business is anywhere outside of a nation of residency. The ability to create businesses and maintain banking outside of a resident government’s control is the result of a world economy that needs to interact in order to progress. For individual or business entities who want to get the most from this structure of world economics, offshore formation of business and banking strategies allow for better control because there are far fewer regulations on offshore accounts. Fewer regulations include reduced taxation from local governments who are unable to tax what is not held “on-shore”. The benefit from offshore formation of accounts and companies lies in the freedom to regulate how and when you are taxed on your income.

Each person and business lives within a boundary of taxation and regulation enforced by local governments. Taken outside of the country, personal and business holdings avoid government’s control over what is yours and what is taxable. It is because of this geo-economic environment that offshore formation of companies and accounts can be used effectively to protect personal and business assets. Understanding how to get the most from offshore formation of business entities and account holdings is the job of an experienced monetary advisor. The need for financial advice is even more needed now that the world is fighting off inflation and recession at the same time.

Putting your money away in a safe place may mean getting it offshore while your own government and economy hits the ropes. Setting up an offshore formation of partners to develop new plans for more world-wide commerce may be what your company needs to continue succeeding. Whatever you decide is the right reason, then that’s the right reason, and the time to look offshore for less regulation and taxation could allow your business or family more money in the future to assist in the recovery of economies gone wild. A practice once thought of as only for the super rich or super shady, offshore formation of business models to protect against liabilities may be just what keeps your company ahead of the pack.

Only in the internet age would it not only be possible but worthwhile to buy sorority and fraternity supplies for rush week online. Consider the case of drinking games. tiEntire online stores have popped up with the random assorted materials necessary for dozens of silly games that frat brothers love to play.

Now consider the case of apparel. What would greek life be without shirt bearing the letters of the fraternity or sorority? Getting a sorority shirt made online is not only easier but also cheaper than getting t-shirts made by a brick and mortar printing or apparel company. What’s more, fraternities and sororities are able to choose from dozens of different garments – from fitted polo shirts, to shorts, and even bikinis.

The possibilities created by online stores catering to Greek life are enough to make any rush chair’s head spin. Thankfully, that’s nothing a bong rip or two can’t fix. Thanks to online custom shirt printers, brothers and sisters alike will be able to show the world that they are proud to be in their fraternity or sorority.

Give a Gift to Be Remembered

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Every year it gets harder and harder to buy parents gifts. As they get older, there are fewer electronics that they’ll bother to learn how to use; fewer clothes they don’t have; fewer books they’ll want to read; and fewer albums they’ll want to listen to. And it’s hard to always be truly original, especially if you’re on a budget.

Why not give the older folks the gift of nostalgia? Memorabilia and merchandise from their childhood is bound to fill them with delight and fond memories as they open your gift, and will create an association in their minds between you and the good times of their youth. So why not buy some lake signs? Their place on the wall of the lake house will remind him of a simpler time that he can escape to each and every time his eyes fix upon it. It will also forge a bond of understanding between you – your understanding of what is truly important in life: making and enjoying memories of good times with loved ones. That is something he will surely appreciate and remember at any age or condition.

Nutritional Supplements

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

How do you choose a nutritional supplement for your life? Picking the right one can have tremendous benefits to you, but choosing the wrong one can mean a lot of wasted money for little or no change. Here are some tips in choosing a supplement that is right for you:

1.    Check the label. A good supplement will contain all the necessary information about what nutrients are in the vitamin and how much of each. The company’s information will also be there – name, address, contact information, etc. Manufacturing dates and recommended dosages should also be somewhere on the label.
2.    Look at the brand. Your brand should be accessible enough that they can provide you with information pertaining to their quality control and other tests and evaluations. If they accommodate your inquiries, they should be a good brand to depend on.
3.    Study your supplements. Plenty of information is available about what supplements are ideal for your body and age. Make sure you know what they are and that the supplement is addressing them.

While this may look like a lot of work, it generally is a one-time thing. Once you’ve found a good, reliable manufacturer that gives you the nutritional supplements you need the most, you will have a partner for life that will keep you healthy for years.

Legal Forms Contracts

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

If you are entering into any type of business with another person or business, there are certain legal forms and contracts that you need to be aware of and go through to properly protect yourself from being taken advantage of.

  • Working contracts. Any time you do business with someone for a period of time, you should draw up some form of legal working contract. This contract would include the terms of the agreement, including what work is involved, a timetable for completion, and the compensation that will be awarded during its completion.
  • Renter’s agreements. Very common. As you rent an apartment, you are liable for damage sustained to the apartment within reason. The landlord is responsible for maintenance and working components of the apartment. The rental agreement also states whether the tenant pays certain bills, such as heat, or if the landlord is responsible for payment of those bills. A renter’s agreement must be read very carefully to make sure you know who is responsible for what.
  • Most government activity. Especially when it pertains to finances, there is a plethora of legal forms and contracts for you to properly deal with the government. This can deal with paying taxes or dealing with government property, among other things. As a citizen of the United States, you need to be aware of what forms or contracts you may need in your dealings within this country.

Beyond blog marketing

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

With the economy softening in nearly every industry, staying afloat has become the day-to-day challenge many business owners are contending with; gone are the days of obsessing over growth and profits. In the process of staying afloat, however, many companies do themselves a disservice by failing to set a solid foundation for business growth once the cycle comes full circle, and times the good times roll again. In focusing on operations rather than strategy, many businesses fall into the trap of downsizing and cutting costs to the point that, when the economy recovers, they will have to find and train new employees, increase benefits, etc, in a more competitive labor market, making that labor more expensive and translating into time lost – time that could have been spent getting a leg up on the competition.

While keeping businesses as efficiently-sized as is possible is always important to keep profitability high and shareholders happy, and while cutting costs should also always be near the top of any small business owner’s agenda, business owners should not fall into the trap of not trying to grow their businesses during economic hard times. History has shown time and time again that businesses that succeed are businesses that invest in their own success at all times, since investing “when the time is right” is always investing too late.

So while you as a business owner would do well by cutting costs, think about ways to grow your business: marketing and pricing are the two easiest ways to grow. As far as marketing goes, don’t discount conventional media just because Adwords and SEM are the latest trend. Consider targeting your segment of a massive audience by producing a commercial or 30-second spot, paid for with the savings from your recent cost cutting. Video commercial production is relatively easy; you only need to find a competent commercial production company, of which there are many. (And, in these harder times, you’re sure to get a better rate for producing a commercial that you can save for better times later.) Television commercials are unrivaled in creating brand awareness and targeting a precise segment, and conventional advertisers are steeply discounting advertising now, as many less informed companies run for the exits, and perhaps their own demise in the process.

By emphasizing growth in conjunction with efficiency, you will get through these tough times while growing your customer base. This is sure to keep you afloat and put you into solid position to be the leader in your region or industry when it rains again, and the money once again flows as it did in recent years.
