High prices have always been the sales philosophy of dealerships. A key concept is you never use a dealership for anything unless your car is under warranty, or you are indeed shopping for a new or used car. Whenever you walk into a dealership, the salesperson sees dollar signs. Why would they want to save you money on Ford engines when they need every part of their commission?

Some online shops will guarantee a used engine for the life of the car. Some cover repair totals, even towing. There are ways to guarantee against getting a lemon.

It’s always best to ask what inspections the engine has had. Each engine and part should be detailed  inspected by the online company and guaranteed against faultiness. Ideally, the engine should come from an auto wreck that didn’t affect the engine, as you can often get low mileage engines for a great discount.

Get a quality used engine that will means of use and satisfaction out of your car. Your vehicle probably still has plenty of life in it. A used engine will get it back on the road, revving again.
